I have been hearing people talking about social movements recently. I take to mean in an organisational context, harnessing for organisational purposes the ‘buzz’ that gets people involved in issues like peace (e.g nuclear disarmament in New Zealand), environment, and civil rights.

Does anyone know how social movements are being applied in organisations, or how organisations can go about getting benefit from social movement ideas?
